Put quite simply, your CV, or Resume, is an introduction to the company you are applying to. First impressions are very important, so your CV must make a good first impression if you have any hope of getting an interview with this prospective employer.

The style of your CV should be geared to match what you know about the company you are sending it to. Many people make the mistake of having a generic CV that they copy and send to every employer they query. Make sure you know the companies style and set your CV up accordingly.

If the company is a strictly professional no nonsense type, then your CV should be set up in a very professional manner. The cover letter that you attach should also match the business style. This business will want your CV to be short and to the point, only listing your education, qualifications and references.

Your introduction paragraph can express a little of your personality, but don’t go overboard. Make sure your English and Grammar are perfect and leave out any slang words or phrases that you are accustomed to using. Do not be a comedian unless you are actually applying for a comedian’s job.

It is fine to slack off a little bit on the formal style, if your CV is being sent to a smaller, less formal company. If the job you are applying for requires that you have a great outgoing personality, such as a sales position, then by all means sell yourself.

To know just how to structure your CV or Resume, you have to know how the company you are applying to is structured. Do a little homework about the company before you write your CV. You will know just how to target your CV and will write up one that fit’s the company’s style.

I you would like to learn more about writing the perfect CV, we can recomand soon.org. The information offered there is very good. Remember that the perfect CV should be geared towards the company’s style, not yours. CV help‏
